The Ocean Sustains Us.
We Sustain the Ocean.
Our commitment to sustainable fishing is not just good business — it is the right thing to do for Namibia, its people, and our planet.
Responsible Fishing for a Sustainable Future
The Benguela Current Large Marine Ecosystem, which defines Namibia's fishing grounds, is one of the most productive ocean systems in the world — but it is not inexhaustible. ABF Fishing recognises that our long-term commercial viability depends entirely on the ecological health of these waters.
We integrate sustainability into every aspect of our business: from how we target fish to how we process, package, and ship them. We measure our environmental performance annually and publish our findings transparently.

How We Deliver
Quota Compliance
We operate strictly within the quotas allocated by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources, ensuring fish stocks are never overexploited.
Waste Reduction
Fish offal and by-products are converted into fishmeal and fish oil, achieving near-zero waste in our processing operations.
Carbon Reduction
We are actively investing in fuel-efficient vessels and shore-based solar installations to reduce our carbon footprint year-on-year.
Community Employment
Over 500 Namibian citizens are directly employed, with additional indirect employment across supply chains and related industries.
Science-Based Decisions
We work closely with MFMR scientists and independent observers to ensure our fishing practices are informed by the best available data.
